My Career

Language and words fascinated me ever since I was a child. As long as I can remember, dealing with language in a creative way has filled me with pleasure. In the course of my academic studies, my love for language and my curiosity for other cultures kept growing. When I was still studying Cultural Science, I got the chance to do my first translation job. I consider myself quite privileged to be able to earn my living with this passion today.

I acquired my language skills during several months of stays abroad in Australia, Argentina and France. Since I regularly travel abroad, consume foreign-language literature and movies and maintain contacts abroad, they are kept "alive" and continually improved.

I have been working as a freelance translator since may 2019. I translate from English, French and Spanish into German. My fields of expertise are environment and ecology, technology, marketing and patents. Prior to starting to work as a freelancer, I worked for the companies SDL and Wohanka, Obermaier & Kollegen for six years.

I earned a Master's degree in translatology at the University of Leipzig in 2015. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies and I did 3 years training as an office clerk. Due to this educational background, I have gained deep insights in different fields of expertise, such as economics and humanities.

I live and work in Leipzig – a great city which has influenced me very much with its diversity and its cultural richness.

Every job is different and has its own challenges. The pricing of translation jobs is affected by various factors, such as the complexity of the field of expertise, the language quality of the source text, the research required, the file type, the quality of the machine translation in Post Editings etc.

This is why the prices below should be considered as approximate guidelines which can be adapted upwards or even downwards, depending on the individual job. Contact me and I will be happy to send you a custom quotation for your project.

Hourly remuneration (for package deals): 45.00 €

For clients residing in Germany, a value added tax of 19% applies.
